In the Moment! Right Now!
The best way (for optimum digestion) to eat a meal is one bite at a time. Similarly, the optimal way to gain spiritual understanding of life in Christ, through DIGGIT® is to consider the meaning(s) of each word in the acronym. Will this second post glorify God? I pray that it does, focusing on the first word in the acronym: DIGGIT®: Does It Glorify God If Tested?
Definitions are important. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language definition of does; present tense, third person singular of do, a verb (action word) meaning to behave or conduct oneself (perform, execute, put into action, etc.). Context is crucial. As early as Genesis 4:7 the Bible records the Lord speaking to Cain, “If you do what is right…” (italics mine). Simply stated God asked Cain a right now, in the moment, at the present time kind of question.
Right now, in the moment you’re reading this post. In another moment you may post a comment. This moment and the next will be immediate, the present time. The moment will pass, but the effect of an action (or even an inaction) can last a lifetime.
Throughout the Bible there are scriptures referencing do, does or doing. A Bible Concordance (an index of words for Bible study specific to the translation, either KJV, NKJV, NIV, etc) is helpful in finding them. In my studies I particularly am drawn to Psalm 143:10, Jeremiah 22:3a, Luke 6:31 and Colossians 3:17. I invite you to explore, consider the context and be spiritually fed.
As we explore Christian living, sharing DIGGIT®, let us keep in mind and heart an omnipresent (always and everywhere present) God, whom we aim to glorify in the moment, right now!
